Fall Thrift Haul

I am super excited to show you all my latest finds this week friends! This has been acquired since the last time I showed off my haul here on the blog.

My first item I'm excited about is this gorgeous ivory silk short sleeve blouse with a button back. It had some staining which mostly came out with a gentle soak, and then taking it to the dry cleaners when that didn't lift it out completely. They aren't as noticeable now, and hopefully they will continue to lighten as it gets cleaned. I had to do a small bit of tacking the facing back down with this blouse, but that honestly took me less than 5 minutes, the cleaning took much longer, and was actually more expensive than the shirt itself ($5 plus shipping).

This second piece is probably the one I am most excited about, it is absolutely stunning and in incredible condition. This mother of pearl hair comb was listed as around 1920's or 30's. Honestly it doesn't matter that much to me, I am just in love with it. Plus it is in good enough condition that I think a brief night out on the rare occasion is not completely out of the question. I have 2 other hair combs in my collection, but they are darker, and this one stands out in my hair more so than they do.

This adorable brooch and earring set was labeled as 20s-40s and the earrings are a screw back style which I wasn't sure about at first, but are not that bad, and so cute. I've worn these out and even to work several times. The brooch is so classic too, it goes with just about anything.

My last item I have to show you friends is something that is going to be a bit of a project, but of course that is no problem for me. I got these as a lot, and they all are missing a few stones here and there. It isn't super obvious unless you are pretty close.

I put the pair on a jacket I have and I think it makes this more of a glamorous evening look now.

Keep your fingers crossed for me that I find some new treasures on my travels. I have some pretty specific items in mind, but it is always a hunt. Until next week friends, it's back to the sewing room!
