Thrift Haul
Friends, I'm so excited for fall just around the corner. Today has been cooler with a strong breeze, and a break from the smoke finally. Not quite ready to break out the fall gear, but it's so close!
I've managed to score some pretty amazing finds in the last two weeks, and I'm so excited to share them! Thrifting is always a hit and miss adventure, the best way I've found is to have a list of between 5-10 ideas and go forth. I've been on the hunt for natural fibers in my thrifts as well, which can make it more difficult but definitely not impossible.
I got this amazing linen button up in good condition. The buttons are pretty yellowed though, so I want to trade those out for some plain white ones. $6.99 plus the buttons I already had in my stash.
I also found a midi length black skirt that is 97% wool. Not in love with the shape but the length is *perfection*. I've spent the last week altering it to be a six gored high waisted midi pencil skirt with back kick pleats.
This was a bit of a trial and error type project, and I had to alter the waist seams at least a dozen times. But perseverance prevailed! I may tweak the lining a bit more but otherwise its gorgeous! $11.49 plus about a week on here and there sewing.
My last and greatest find this month are these olive green wool trousers. Friends, they fit perfectly from the beginning, and they still had the tags on. I could barely believe it! $6.49 and a quick press and I am ready to go. And then wait for it to cool down, because its August!
Planning more projects to come in the next week, I scheduled a whole day to myself this week just for sewing adventures and to finish my audiobook! Back to the sewing room friends.
