Garden Party Dress... in September

I seem to have mixed up my seasons friends. Although if you've known me for any amount of time you know I love wearing green, which is ironic since I'd never really wear it when I was child. (Pink or purple exclusively, and only skirts. No pants, I was a GIRLY girl. Yikes.)
I bought this gorgeous herb garden watercolor fabric from spoonflower, so it was custom printed on a length of cotton jersey just for me! I originally had something else entirely planned for this, but it was so beautiful, I needed something to showcase the fabric better.
The pattern is a lengthed Portia Party Dress, which is a free pattern! I used a medium for the shoulders, and sloped it into a small for the waist and then just used up the rest of the length to make it a maxi dress. I contemplated leaving a slit, but it moves so beautifully. Plus I left a fat hem in case I ever want to give it a small train for a garden party...
I finished it just in time to wear it to a restaurant with no garden, but it was super comfy! Plus the stretchy fabric means there is room for all the chips and salsa I could reach, which was a lot.
I have some not exactly sewing content on the way, hoping it works in the meantime! Until next time, it's back to the sewing room friends!
